Virtual Drop-in Office Hours

Need to talk to an LGBT RC staff member? Connect with us during our virtual drop-in hours via ConexEd. 

What are virtual drop-in hours?

LGBT Resource Center staff will be available for drop-ins from students online. Our staff is there to chat about topics such as finding resources on campus, identity, coming out, transitioning, finding LGBTQIA+ community, leadership opportunities, navigating challenges, or just to chat about how life is going.  

Come say hi! We would love to talk more with you.

When are virtual drop-in hours? 

In Fall 2020, starting August 24, drop-in virtual hours will be: 

  • Mondays 11am-1pm
  • Tuesdays  11am-1pm
  • Wednesdays 5pm-7pm
  • Thursdays 11am-1pm

 How do I attend virtual drop-in hours?

Enter our virtual lobby on ConexEd via the following link: https://utah.craniumcafe.com/group/lgbt-resource-center-staff/lobby 

How do I use ConexEd?

You'll be asked to agree to FERPA regulations and then you will log-in to ConexEd using your UNID and university password. (If you do not have a UNID yet, you are still abl to create an account!) This means that you are ok sharing information with the staff you talk to on ConexED. Only staff in the LGBT RC will have access to what you talk with us about.  

Once logged-in, you can navigate to your profile in the upper left-hand connect to update your name and/or picture, if you want to. You can use a chosen name in ConexED that is different from your legal name, but be aware that this will be visible to those who your are meeting with.  

Is what I discuss in a meeting be private?

Yes, we keep student information private in our office, and no one else will be able to see that you've meet with our staff during virtual drop-in hours. 

However, LGBT RC staff required to report incidents related to sexual violence, discrimination, and harassment to the Office of Equal Opportunity. If you would like to talk to a confidential campus resource about any of these topics, you may contact Victim Survivors Advocates or University of Utah Counseling Center. If you have questions about what this means or would like support reaching out to these offices, our staff can help you. 

Do I have to be a student to attend virtual drop-in hours?

You will need to have a UNID and university password to sign-in to ConexED to talk with us during virtual drop-in hours. If you are prospective, student/family, community member, etc. And would like to talk with us, contact us at lgbtrc@sa.utah.edu or 801-587-7973 to schedule an appointment.
