Mentor/Mentee Program

Students having funThe mentor program pairs students who are coming out and exploring an identity as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender, with other individuals who are more knowledgeable and self-accepting of their LGBT identity. Mentoring helps people develop a positive LGBT identity by providing a supportive relationship, accurate information, and a safe person to talk with about coming out concerns. A mentor is an LGBT junior, senior, or graduate student who has experienced, first-hand, the challenges of coming out and finding self-acceptance. They are mature, show good judgment, are knowledgeable about community resources, and seek to make a contribution to the LGBT community by helping others.

If you would like more information about this program, please contact the LGBT Resource Center by calling 801-587-7973 or by e-mailing them.
