Academic Advising Center

Academic Advising Center offers a plethora of services to students such as exploring academic options and majors; determining preparatory classes for your major; assisting with graduation requirements; generating Degree Audit Reports (DARS); interpreting test scores for credit or placement (AP, ACT, CLEP, Writing Placement Essay, etc.) for appropriate class selections; and explaining university policies and procedures such as add/drop, withdrawing, academic renewal, course repeats, credit/no credit etc.

Student Tutoring Center

The student tutoring center is an excellent source for help understanding difficult class material. ASUU subsidizes the tutoring center to provide supplemental instruction.

Student Success Advocates are experts in the U of U community that assist students in navigating the often overwhelming experience of college. University Counseling Center

The counseling center addresses personal, career, and academic learning issues. Individual and group counseling, classes, and workshops are available. Contact with other university organizations and departments is possible. Confidentiality is assured.

Student Health Services

The Office of Health Promotion promotes all five areas of health: emotional, intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual. They focus on the college age population and unique issues such as body image, gender roles, safer sex, sexual assault, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), substances, and substance abuse. They also assist with immunization requirements and health insurance.

Dean’s Office

The Office of the Dean of Students coordinates the Student Conduct Administration processes, serves as an advocate for students facing challenges to their success as students, and advises several student leadership organizations. We have staff ready to assist students, staff, faculty, family members, and community members with student issues and concerns.

 Our office has many functions for the University of Utah community. We administer the Student Conduct procedures for the campus, provide advocacy assistance to students in need, and advise student organizations including student government (ASUU) and fraternities & sororities

Women’s Resource Center

The Women’s Resource Center (WRC) seeks to be a primary network of resources for all women on campus. As a Student Affairs office we work to collaborate with offices on campus in order to have the necessary knowledge to assist student, staff and faculty with appropriate resources. The WRC offers scholarships and financial assistance, counseling for individuals and couples (for U of U students, staff and faculty), support groups for women on and off campus as well as opportunities to volunteer and get involved.

Food pantry

The University of Utah food pantry aims to minimize hunger among our students, their families, and faculty and staff by providing free, accessible, and non-perishable food.

Rape Recovery Center 

The Rape Recovery Center strives to empower those victimized by sexual violence through advocacy, crisis intervention, and therapy and to educate the community about the cause, impact, and prevention of sexual violence.

Services they provide include a 24-hour crisis line, 24-hour Hospital Response Team, information about sexual assault, and more.

Career & Professional Development Center 

The Career & Professional Development Center posts full-time and part-time jobs currently available. They can aid in researching a particular field, career, or industry. The center will provide applications, resumes, and interview tips, as well as salary negotiation techniques, career fairs, and internship opportunities.

Child Care

The University of Utah Center for Child Care and Family Resources offers services to assist University students, faculty and staff in their search for quality child care services.

All children need quality care, whether at home with a parent, being cared for by a relative or in a child care setting.  Quality care is care that promotes the optimal growth and development of children.

Financial Wellness Center

Financial Wellness Center provides a confidential atmosphere where students can have access to accredited financial counseling services, quality financial education and appropriate tools for managing financial need. Common issues they may assist with include budgeting money, negotiating the student loans process, finding scholarships, completing the FAFSA, and much more.
