Queer Wellness

Embark on a journey of holistic wellness and healing tailored for our Queer community! Our Queer Wellness event features tabling from various campus partners and organizations, offering resources and information to support diverse methods of healing and wellness.

At our Queer Wellness day, you can expect to have a chance to attend a free yoga session, a tabling event to be connected with various healing options, and a informative panel featuring topics about hormone replacement therapy and PrEP.

If you plan on joining us for our Queer Wellness Day here are a few things you need to know:

Need To Know's:

  • When?
    • April 3rd 2024 
      • Yoga: Doors open at 9am, session starts promptly at 9:30am.
        • Mats will be available but we reccomend to bring your own if you can!
      • Tabling: 11:00am - 2:00pm 
      • Panel: 4:00pm- 5:00pm
  • Where?
    • Yoga: Bill and Pat Child Family Community Hall (Spencer Fox Eccles Business Building 7th Floor)
    • Tabling: Bill and Pat Child Family Community Hall (Spencer Fox Eccles Business Building 7th Floor)
    • Panel: Skagg's Hall Auditorium College of Pharmacy
  • Do I need to register?
    • Registration is required for our yoga event you can find that here.
    • Registration is not required for our tabling event but is encouraged- you can find that here
    • Registration is required for our panel event- you can find that here
  • Does it cost money?
    • Entrance and participation in Queer Wellness is free
  • Will there be food?
    • There will be snacks and beverages provided at Queer Wellness.
  • How do I pay?
    • N/A
  • Where do I park?
    • We reccomend to park in the 2nd level of the University of Utah's 'Central Garage' lot- located underneath the 'Central Garage'. Click here for  'Lot 11' directions, 
    • There is also the option parking in 'Lot 28',  please reference this map to search for this lot. 
  • Alternate Commuting Option:
    • https://commuterservices.utah.edu/campus-shuttle/

      An alternate option for parking is to utilize our campus shuttle, the UTA, bus or trax. Students, faculty & staff can use your 'UID' to utilize these services for free. For more information on the campus shuttle schedule please reference (the link above)

  • What to bring?
    • If you plan on coming to our yoga session, bring appropriate attire!
    • If you plan on coming to tabling, it is free so bring your curiosity!
    • If you plan on coming to the panel, bring your curiousity and your questions!

 Safety

  • Prioritizing safety starts with knowing your exits and adhering to campus guidelines. Your awareness and preparedness can make all the difference in maintaining a secure and protected environment for everyone. What If's?

  • What If I feel unsafe?
    • If you feel at safe at any point please call campus security: 801-585-2677 or 911.
  • What If I want to be escorted to my vehicle?
    • If you want to be escorted to your vehicle before, during or after a Pride Week event please call campus security: 801-585-2677.
  • What If I don't feel comfortable or well enough to walk back to my dorm, or residential area?
    • If you don't feel comfortable or well enough to walk back to your dorm or residence before, during or after a Pride week event please call for a free campus safe U ride: (801) 231-9058.
