Drag Makeup Masterclass

This event is called the 'Drag Makeup Masterclass'. We will have professional instruction from two local Drag Queens on the art and mastery of the Drag eye blocking technique. In addition to you getting master class instruction, you'll also have an opportunity to learn more about the roots of drag and how our past paves the way forward to our future.
 
During this masterclass you can plan on having sanitary single use makeup brushes, pallettes and wipes so you can do instruction with the Queens as they are doing it! What better way to learn than to learn while doing?
We reccomend to come with a freshly washed face!
 
If you plan on joining us for our Drag Makeup Masterclass, here are some things you may need to know!
 

Need To Know's:

  • When?
    • April 5th 
      • First Session- 1:15-2:30. Doors open at 1:15, we reccomend coming early to get the best seats in house!
      • Second Session- 2:45-4:00pm. Doors open at 2:45, we reccomend coming early to get the best seats in house!
  • Where?
    • University of Utah A. Ray Olpin Union Panorama East (4th floor across from LGBT RC)
  • Do I need to register?
  • Does it cost money?
    • Entrance into the Drag Makeup Masterclass is free
    • How do I pay?
      • N/A
  • Where do I park?
    • We reccomend to park in the University of Utah's main Studen Union visitor parking lot- located at
      200 S Central Campus Dr
      Salt Lake City, UT 84112. This lot has a self pay kiosk. Be sure to pay attention to directional signage in the lot for guidance on how to pay for parking. 
      • The lot number is 'lot 28'. Please reference here for directions to 'lot 28'
  • Alternate Commuting Option:

    • https://commuterservices.utah.edu/campus-shuttle/

      An alternate option for parking is to utilize our campus shuttle, the UTA, bus or trax. Students, faculty & staff can use your 'UID' to utilize these services for free. For more information on the campus shuttle schedule please reference (the link above)

  • What to bring
    • This is a makeup instructional course where you will be doing a makeup look while our queens are doing it- please come with this knowledge in mind! If you want to bring your own brushes or palletes you are welcome to. Disposable/single use materials will also be available for use. 

Safety

Prioritizing safety starts with knowing your exits and adhering to campus guidelines. Your awareness and preparedness can make all the difference in maintaining a secure and protected environment for everyone.   • What If I feel unsafe?
    • If you feel at safe at any point please call campus security: 801-585-2677 or 911.
  • What If I want to be escorted to my vehicle?
    • If you want to be escorted to your vehicle before, during or after a Pride Week event please call campus security: 801-585-2677.
  • What If I don't feel comfortable or well enough to walk back to my dorm, or residential area?
    • If you don't feel comfortable or well enough to walk back to your dorm or residence before, during or after a Pride week event please call for a free campus safe U ride: (801) 231-9058.
